Gaze Upon Us*

The 5th Poetry Downtown Festival is canceled—unable to proceed as Drive Music Publishing does not allow us to celebrate the extraordinary life and work of 'Warrior Poet'.

CANCELLED
5th Poetry Downtown Festival

On January 24, after weeks of contact, calls, and emails, Ana Ruiz from Drive Music Publishing was not willing to grant us the proper permissions to celebrate Warrior Poet’s life and work.

As a result, we must cancel the 5th Poetry Downtown Festival, scheduled for September 23–28. We deeply apologize to all the poets who were studying the work and life of Warrior Poet, as well as to all American Indians and others who were looking forward to this event.

We hope to return in 2026, when we plan to celebrate the life and work of Allen Ginsberg with his iconic words:

America I’ve given you all and now I’m nothing

Erik van Loon
